The Job Role
This role involves using creative technology to engage young people with a wide range of learning and pastoral needs.
The work will take place in our Hellesdon study centre where you will receive training and support. The role includes delivery of 2x2hr sessions, one-to-one, with two separate young people during term time. There is an expectation of an increase in hours being offered as we progress and expand. The working day would be from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
What We Want
Essentially, we are looking for someone with good interpersonal and listening skills who can build trust with young people.
Backgrounds in education, technology, youth work, the creative arts, counselling and an understanding of neurodiversity are desirable although not essential. We would be very interested to hear from applicants with a knowledge of computer coding or games building and design. Lab Media is committed to safeguarding children and young people and all post holders are subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (with a Barred List check).

Training will be given in session content, safeguarding and other aspects as needed and identified. We realise that we are unlikely to get someone with the skill set of everything listed on our website and will give training and support to broaden your skillset. The successful applicant would also get the opportunity to become involved with other LM projects and we would encourage them to use us to develop their own creative practice where they fit with our remit.

​The Interview Process
Interviews will take no longer than 60 minutes with a panel consisting of two Directors and a tutor. This will be a relaxed conversation where we get to know each other and explore common interests. There are no "trick" questions. We might set a practical task to gauge your approach to technical problems. There will be a tour of the building included. There is ample parking at Carrowbreck House.

Pay and Conditions
Any offer is subject to receipt of two references. Short listed candidates will be asked about relevant criminal records as part of pre-recruitment checks. If a relevant criminal record is disclosed, we will ensure an open and fair discussion takes place before making a final offer. Failure to disclose information that is then later revealed on a DBS check, could lead to withdrawal of an offer of employment. After receiving the DBS check, we will discuss any matters revealed that have not been previously addressed, before reconsidering the conditional offer of employment. Those attending interview will be required to bring proof of identity, address and qualifications.
£120 per day - £5040 per annum
1 day a week from 9.30am to 3.30pm with a 30 min lunch break.
38 days one to one delivery.
4 paid days holiday that cannot be taken in term time.
Scope for expected increase of hours on the same rate and conditions.
